A custodian is a financial institution that has legal responsibility for a customer’s securities. Custodianship includes asset management, as well as safekeeping.
PARAGON Wealth Strategies, like all Wealth Management firms, is required to have a custodian. Investments that you entrust to our firm are placed in custody with Fidelity’s clearing firm, National Financial Services LLC (NFS) — one of the largest clearing providers in the industry. A clearing firm is an organization that works with financial exchanges to handle the confirmation, delivery, and settlement of transactions.
This does NOT mean that we use Fidelity products such as their mutual funds or their Exchange Traded Funds. It merely means that Fidelity serves as the brokerage account where you may hold a myriad of carefully selected investments in your portfolio such as stocks, bonds, CD's, and other assets.
When selecting a financial advisor, it is critical to consider where your investments will be held. This choice will often determine the level of service, support, and protection that you can expect from your financial advisor.
Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services (FIWS) enjoys a decades long reputation for integrity and financial management expertise, giving our clients peace of mind that their assets are safely accounted for. With Fidelity, we know we are working with providers that will maintain the highest levels of integrity in providing brokerage and custody services — along with privacy protection — for your assets.
